I've sat through over 30 hours of yoga, it is starting to rub off on me in other ways - for the best. Mostly.
Anyways, I always like to check into my goals each month for a swift kick if needed or a good pat on the back if I'm making progress towards them. Therefore, here is January in review.
Run more miles than in 2015
I am off to a solid start on this goal. I ran nearly double what I ran for January 2015. Finishing this month off at a total of 87 miles. Just 6 miles shy of having my highest mileage for a January ever and one of my fastest.
Log 100 Hours of Volunteering
yikes, no volunteering happened this month. I'll be honest between hot yoga every single day, running, and regular life, I legit didn't have any extra time. I will soon though, I am going to become a Girls on The Run coach - which will be a volunteer position throughout the spring.
Read 39 Books (4/39)
I think Modern Romance was the most interesting - particuarly since I am single and in my 30s. The statistics and research was fascinating. The Minimalist Budget was a bit of a let down. I already live quite the minimalist lifestyle- I think I was looking for some new unique ways to pinch. I am also on a big Beverly Clearly kick with my students. They seem to enjoy the adventures of RIbsy (who reminds me a bit of Marcy dog. I haven't decided totally if I'll count what I read with/to my students towards my overall goal - but I am eager to keep track of what we do read.
Practice Yoga 78 times (31/78)
I finished out the month with practicing yoga 29 times. And am now at 31. (one yoga class wasn't HOT) I'm not sure how the whole year will play out, but I may need to increase my goal!
Hike 1 mountain a month
All the yoga made it hard to find time to go hiking. I love that I live close to the mountains, but in the winter time, an early start is key. I'll make up for it quick!
Complete 12 Bucket List Items (1/12)
Hot Yoga ! (technically ended in February but most of the yoga was done in January!)
Overall January was a great month. I know it sounds very catchy - but I was very mindful throughout the month. I did not order take out & didn't pay for any meals out (although I was treated to a few). I cooked a lot, read a lot, yoga-ed a lot and ran quite a bit. I hope to maintain this same feeling throughout the year, because I finally don't feel as though life is flying past at full speed without me.
