Foster Dog # 1 Rhoda

I adopted Marcy from Perfect Pet Rescue in April 2014.  I knew all along that some day, I wanted to foster dogs.  We moved into the house in August & was busy working/hiking.  I filled out the application to foster about a year after after adopting Marcy but still held off agreeing to foster. Then October came, I knew I wouldn't be traveling anywhere until Christmas so I finally went for it.  I picked up Rhoda from the transport (that arrived from an overnight drive from Georgia) on 24th.

From the beginning Rhoda was sweet. curious, and eager to please.  Marcy took to her (mostly) and the two loved to play.  Everyday I tossed around the idea of adopting Rhoda. But for now, Marcy and I will stay as a family of two and will open up our home again in January  It was bittersweet when her application came in. She was so excited to meet her family and it seemed like the right fit. On December 3rd she was adopted.

  1. What a sweetie! I feel like I couldn't foster dogs because I fall in love with them and don't want to give them up, but I'm a big supporter of adoption as opposed to buying or getting pups at breeders. You're doing good work!!

    1. It helps having a dog already. I don't think I could do it otherwise!
