Life of a new homeowner - 2 months.

After I moved all my stuff into my house I promptly gave up all of my free time to finish hiking the ADK 46.  Since I am a new homeowner,  I have no idea how long it's suppose to take to move in / paint/ unpack, but nearly 2 months later some progress has been made towards making my place mine.

I was fortunate enough to have my parents help fund the first (and only) project for year - which was removal of the fancy wood paneling.  My uncle and his friend came by back in late August/ early September and pulled down all of the paneling and replacing it with sheet rock.  After procrastinating for a few weeks, I finally primed the walls and began testing paints.

While the living room sat in limbo,  the other rooms did as well, since I couldn't move stuff around.  The weather was perfect this past weekend for painting, cold and wet.  I was able to convince my Dad to come and help me paint the first coat while waiting for my uncle to caulk the woodwork.

Once the the woodwork was complete, I was determined to keep the momentum going.  After a second trip to home depot for the day, more paint was acquired and my mom joined us for a fun filled evening of painting.  My former roommate Jessie also stopped by and was put to work on painting the trim.  Overall it was a long long day, but insanely productive. Furniture has been moved out of the guest bedroom, books unpacked and a few pictures on the wall. Slowly, it feels like I'm living here.

Both bedrooms have been painted a more neutral color. But still need updated curtains and bedding, but really one step at a time.  My to-do list is ever growing, but have found it to be fun, especially when friends and family help out.
