Life Goal: Geocaching

I have been wanting to Geocache for a while now,  so much so that it made the official bucket list. A few years ago, my friend Jessie and I tried to find one the Maryland area of DC.  We were unsuccessful and I haven't made an effort to try again since.

Sunday was a beautiful day in upstate New York so I decided to give it a whirl.  I downloaded the Geocaching app for my iphone and took a walk.  There was one located in a park near my apartment, that I had seen but never checked out. I followed my gps and read the clues.  I knew I was in the right spot and searched, searched, searched and thought that I was going going to fail yet again.  Eventually, I was able to figure it out and found my very first geocache.  Sadly I didn't have a pen so I didn't get a chance to sign in, but now that I know where it is, I could always swing back and sign it.

I definitely plan to try this again.  I might not have ever walked into this small green space and am very glad I had the excuse to.

  1. I LOVE Geocaching. I recently found my 500th, and I actually have two of my own GCs and my own Travel Bug. It's a lot of fun. You wouldn't believe some of the containers that you'll find! One looked like GUM, but it was a magnet, with the paper scroll behind it. So sneaky.
