After my trail run on Sunday my ankle felt very very sore. I iced it and became reacquainted with vitamin I. It was still sore on monday, but significantly better. By Tuesday it was back to it's regular achy 3 that it is daily. Since it didn't feel any worse than it did before, I went out in my parents neighborhood in hopes of tackling the 10 miles I failed to accomplish on Sunday.
I did the first 2.75 before looping back to my parents house to get some water, use the bathroom, and grab my hat since it had started to rain.
I looped through another "association" also known as a street in my parents golf community. My dad said that the 6th hole would have ice & water so I stopped there at mile 5.
From there, I ran on that side on the neighborhood until I hit mile 7 before looping back to hole 6 so I could snag a bit more water. It definitely helped knowing there was water along the course, despite the run being quite boring.
The last mile was though, but it wasn't my slowest. While I know I can race at a faster pace, I was proud of the fairly even splits I kept throughout this run.
I am still trying to readjust my running plan since being sick but I still feel pretty confident that it'll work itself out. Now I can only hope I can get in a 12 and maybe a 14 miler while I'm in Costa Rica for the next few weeks....
