April Resolution Recap

It's a new month and time to reflect on those pesky new years resolutions yet again. I've continued to make progress in the same areas and struggling still in most everything else.

New Year's Resolutions 2013

Complete a 5k in 25 minutes.
I still haven't made any attempt towards this.  Like last year (pre injury atleast)  I switched gears from getting faster to going longer.  I seem to be on the same trend now.

Yoga 1x a week. (5/52)
Womp Womp.  This is barely once a month.  No wonder I feel all wonky all the time.

Complete 12 items off of my bucket list. (1/12)
Hooray I finally completed at least one item.  I went to stagecoach and had an absolute blast.  It totally has me amped up on summer/country music/concerts! Multi-day music festival  - check!

Volunteer 1x a month
This still hasn't happened and 2 days into May and I don't see it happening yet again this month.  I'll have to pay my dues big time this summer once the school year ends.

Make my bed 1 morning a week(17/52)
Just about spot on.  It still isn't a natural act for me, but I've been trying more.

Travel outside of the Greater Capital District 1x a month. (4/12)
Traveling continues to be something that I excel at.  I was so lucky to go visit my friends in SD and be able to finally go to Stagecoach.
Read 33 books (11/33)
Traveling always helps me catch up on my reading.  I am now closer to being on target with 11 books read so far this year.

I thought It Starts with Food was a waste of time/paper.  Poorly written and frankly I don't trust their research.  I understand why people would try elimination diets and find what works for them, but as a vegetarain with Ulcertative Colitis I suppose I've already done it and have found what foods work for me.
The Hobbit was awesome, duh.
A little big life was a sweet book that Dean Koontz wrote about his dog.  As a dog lover it was a nice read.
I've enjoyed everything Mitch Albom has written so far and Have a little Faith is no different.  Very great life reminders in this novel.

Save an additional 100 bucks a month (300/1200)
With a vacation in the mix, I was not able to save any month.  But I'd say it was worth it.

Run in 13 races for 2013 (1/13)
Live Lovers 5k

I finally ran my first race since my injury last may.  It was a great cause and a great weekend!

Hike 13 High Peaks (4/13)

Sadly no hiking has been done.  The conditions right now are not my ideal.  Sloshy.  I'm looking forward to heading back out in June.

Hike 13 Catskills 3500

  1. You are still making progress towards them. I cannot say the same thing about my New Year's Resolutions. Hopefully you check off another race at the Mountain Goat this weekend. :-)

  2. You've been doing such a good job with your goals for the year! I would never do that great with making my bed. Ours is always a mess. I should really try making it more often!
