March Resolution Recap

  • Yoga once a week (7/52)
I am so super behind on this goal.  March was a crazy busy month as mentioned in a few posts.  My spring break starts on Friday, so hopefully I can catch on some days!
  • Complete a full cycle of p90x
Yup, still haven't started. I bought an app on my ipod to remind me to do workouts, but it just hasn't happened yet.  Maybe that will be something else I initiate while on spring break.
  • Complete 12 things off my life list (2/12)
Hopefully I will live a long and healthy life, because at the rate I am going, it will be a very long time until I complete my life list. I was all set out to go geocaching one day but ended up doing something else instead, who knows what, most likely sleep.
  • Run a 5k in under 25 Minutes
This might not happen this year, or ever.  I may or may not have a new PR at 28:55, which is still 4 minutes slower than this goal.  I would need new lungs, heart, and legs in order to go much faster than I was going.
  • Run a 5k in 21 Minutes (21:59 is acceptable)
this goal is downright silly.  Do I really think I can cut off 7 minutes?   It's not likely.  see above comment.  But I'll keep it around as motivation or something to chuckle at.
  • Volunteer 1x per Month(2/12)
I volunteered twice in march for a teen program in downtown Albany.  The first day, we went bowling, which was super easy volunteering all I had to do was bowl and chat with kids.  I missed one opportunity to volunteer with the program on St. Patricks day because of "traffic".  On the last day of the month, I was persuaded to teach the participants Yoga during their health and fitness day.  I should note that I've only been 7 times this year and only went 14 times last year ( per archived new years resolutions page)  but once upon a time I went regularly and was deemed the local expert.  Thankfully I downloaded a sun salutations app and used that to teach the 13-18year old city kids a bit about Yoga.  It was awkward and hilarious and maybe some of them will become fans some day.
  • Read 36 books a year(2/36)
The common trend here is that I am behind.  I am currently reading Moby Duck, which I really like I just haven't been able to find the time between teaching, babysitting (surprisingly those are two separate activities despite what it seems like some days), running, reading blogs, writing posts, sleeping, and spending time with important people.
  • Run 3x a week (35/156)
Still doing quite well with this one.  I missed one day, so I am one day behind reaching this goal, but with RLRF finally over,  I plan to add one more day as soon as babysitting is over ( this upcoming thursday!)
  • Workout in the morning once a week.
Now that I am working regular hours again I thought about implementing this goal, but I just don't see it happening.
  • Race 1x a Month (3/12)
On track for this goal,  and may or may not have finished with a new PR check it out!
  • Follow 1 new recipe a week (12/52)
Because I'm not a huge foodie or a fancy cook, I don't do too many post about the new dishes I've tried. Some have come out great, others could use some work.  But I have done a pretty good job of following at least one new recipe a week.  Despite owning a billion cookbooks, Allrecipes.com has been my go-to for most of the dishes.
