Summer Living

Despite being unemployed.  ( I received my final paycheck last week, so I can no longer claim that I am on "summer vacation")  I've been quite busy. I've taken up selling stuff on Ebay, which is (not surprisingly) a huge time suck.  I've always just donated old clothing, and I realize now that I was missing out, people will busy just about anything.  I'm doing one more round of it before leaving for Spain & then will do it again when I return.   Once upon a time everything I owned fit in 2 suitcases and the trunk of my car and I'd like to get back to being that light weight once again.

My mom and I also took a few sewing classes.  The first one was on basic sewing and understanding the machine and easy troubleshooting.  The second class was quilting, which was very challenging for me.  There's lots of straight line cutting and a little more patience that I have with myself.  But it's do-able, and something I'll give more of a chance after Spain.
Certainly not perfect but learning!

My oldest friends birthday was this past weekend, so I went up to the Lake with her and many of her friends.  They had reserved several campsites on an island- ( unfortunately there was one site we couldn't get with cranky neighbors) but it was a blast. We spent the weekend boating, cliff jumping swimming, drinking, and eating.  I couldn't have asked for a more fun and relaxing weekend.

I've been slightly slacking on my running, definitely not getting the miles in that I'll need to train properly for the Goofy Challenge, but I am off to a better start this week ( and technically - Bart Yasso's plan starts next week....)  But there is room for improvement as always feel free to monitor my progress here. My friend Jessie that is also running Goofy with Teams ( donate link is on the right ) and I started a nike+ challenge which has helped with the motivation to just get out and run.

And now it's time for me to get serious about Spain.  I'll be leaving in less than 2 weeks and I still have several gaps in planning. It's a little overwhelming but I think once I get there, it'll all fall into place.  (hopefully)
