January Recap

January Recap


I've made some progress towards my 2011 New Year Resolution, but I certainly still have a lot to go.
1. Find a Doctor and a Dentist. - I haven't made any gains towards finding doctors/dentist or check up.  Which is stupid on my part since its the only resolution that is done in one shot.
2. Take Public Transportation 2x a week to work  ((10/44)) I have been exceptionally good about metroing to work twice a week.  It'll be easy to make it to 44.
3. Yoga 1x per week ((3/52))  I did okay with Yoga for the first 3 weeks, but I got busy between school and dating that I've skipped out the past few weeks.  But I did buy a video so hopefully it will be more convenient.
4. Run 4x a week ((7/208))- running hasn't picked up nearly as much as it should.  But I did go for a great outdoor run today, so I'm hopeful I'll get my act together soon.
5. Attend 1 Free in DC event per month  ((0/12))- I failed at attending a free in DC event, so I will have to attend 2 in February.
6. Accomplish 11 things off of my Life list ((0/11)) - No progress towards accomplishing anything on my life list, but I am making plans to donate blood soon.
7. Race 1x per month ((0/12))- I could not find a single race to run in January, I'll plan to double up at some point.
8. Volunteer 1x per month ((0/12))- I kept signing up to volunteer at a GED program but it kept getting canceled due to heating issues.  I hope to double up this month to get back on track.
9. Read 2 books per month (1/24))
        Jaunary book 1:  Sydney - Ruth Park
        January book 2: Sleeping Around: A CouchSurfing Tour of the Globe- Brian Thacker

10. Follow 1 new recipe per week ((6/52))
      1. Turkey Meatloaf (recommended by Greg)
      2. 1-2-3-4 Turkey & Beans Chili (Not your mothers slow cooker cookbook)
      3 .Banana Bread
      4. Vegetarian Fried Rice 
      5. Coconut Almond Granola (Not your mother's slow cooker cookbook)
      6. Salsa Chicken (Not your mother's slow cooker cook book.
