Quick Run Update

With RnR Virginia Beach only 3 weeks away, I was starting to question if I would be able to complete it. Fortunately, today I was able to get out & run 8 miles. I definitely wasn't running at the pace I'd prefer, but since I'm still adjusting to the humidity, I'll take what I can get. I decided to explore the east side of DC and ran to the National Arboretum (which is/was on my list of places to visit) The park was perfect for running. I stayed on the paved road. I wasn't prepared to navigate the side trails, so I MUST return in the future to explore more. But I was able to enjoy the quiet and beautiful park. I wish I had run with my camera because it was truly beautiful & I wish I could share some of the views from my run. I will most certainly visit again.

I was pleased that I survived all 8 miles & came home to relax and read the NY Times. I ate my Sunday dinner at Union Pub again. I am definitely enjoying the Sunday routine I've developed.

Tomorrow will start the final phase of training before the madness starts.

  1. Congratulations!! The humidity in this area is nearly suffocating, but it will make you a better runner (I think?). It's like training at altitude!
